SUMMER CAMPS

FUNDRAISERS

Each summer we offer two summer camps one week in length from the hours of
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. These camps are open to any current or former MCA student and their siblings up to age 7 years old. These camps have a daily schedule which include outside play as well as lots of science and art. Students bring their lunches to camp and the daily snack is provided by MCA. Our camps are held at MCA and each camp has a fun kid theme.

June 20th-24th ~ Safari Camp

Safari Camp June 20-24
The ancient art of storytelling will take place in an outdoor tent listening to facts and clues of the mystery jungle animal. Putting on their binoculars the campers will explore the property and have fun solving clues to locate the featured hidden animal of the day!  Who sleeps in the jungle with their eyes open and has no ears to hear? Who weighs over 2 tons and charges when provoked? Who carries all her babies in her large jaws to safety in her mouth? Children will enjoy learning about these and other amazing jungle animals and how they survive in the jungles of Africa. Come hear the beat as we make our own African drums, face masks and make our own walking snakes! We will be having lots of fun both inside and outside of the classroom at this camp!

July 18th-22nd ~ Art Camp

Come and get creative with us! Both boys and girls alike will enjoy this fun camp as we create art using fun hands on materials. Have you ever made a weaving from a hula hoop? We will be making weavings, manipulating clay using both hand building and sculpting techniques. The campers will learn about layering art designs
through both scratch etchings and using natural sunlight. Join us as we explore these various art techniques while creating wonderful masterpieces of Art!  Each day a different children's book illustrator (like Eric Carle and Jan Brett) will be featured as we explore which art medium they used to create their famous picture books that we all enjoy!
